Helen Childs Partner

I have always wanted to work in this area of law. For me, personal injury law is about the combination of the human element; helping people to get recompense for often devastating accidents, with the thrill of the chase; working out who was at fault and forcing them to accept responsibility and pay the compensation that's due. Moving into asbestos claims was a logical progression for me.

My clients are invariably lovely people who have been dealt a very bitter blow with their diagnosis of an often very serious illness, or the loss of a loved one. Listening to their life stories is fascinating, and working out who is responsible for their loss can involve detailed forensic analysis, and is always really interesting and hugely rewarding. It's a pleasure and a privilege to help each and every one of my clients. Read more >

Jennifer Seavor

Partner

Maggie Powell Associate

Jennifer qualified in 2008 and has specialised in acting for sufferers of asbestos-related diseases ever since. In the last few years Jennifer has recovered over £3 million in compensation for her clients, and is especially recommended by The Legal 500 UK for “asbestos-related claims”.

Often my clients have lost a loved one due to an asbestos disease and watched them suffer during their illness. Helping my clients to pursue claims and recover compensation can never replace their health or the loved one they have lost. However, I consider it vital that those responsible are brought to justice. I have dedicated my career to this work and my clients are my number one priority. It is a pleasure to use my skills and experience to assist them. Read more >

Rachel James

Partner

Ian Carrier Partner

After qualifying in 2005, Rachel specialised in catastrophic brain injury cases before specialising in asbestos linked diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer and pleural thickening claims in recent years.

Since moving into asbestos claims, I cannot imagine doing anything else. My clients are always lovely people who have been dealt a devastating and often very sudden blow. While no amount of compensation can replace a love one or change a devastating diagnosis, it is hugely rewarding to know that I can assist in providing some level of financial security and peace of mind to victims and families who find themselves in such a dreadful situation. Emily Barratt

Solicitor

Richard Brooks Partner

Emily joined the firm from Irwin Mitchell, where she had a background in a broad range of personal injury and asbestos-related disease cases.

I believe in fighting for sufferers of asbestos related disease and their families because employers should have done more to prevent people from becoming exposed to such a harmful substance. No amount of compensation can make up for their suffering but at the very least they deserve some answers and some accountability.

Throughout school I was always set on the idea of pursuing a career in law.
