Helen Childs Partner

I have always wanted to work in this area of law. For me, personal injury law is about the combination of the human element; helping people to get recompense for often devastating accidents, with the thrill of the chase; working out who was at fault and forcing them to accept responsibility and pay the compensation that's due. Moving into asbestos claims was a logical progression for me.

My clients are invariably lovely people who have been dealt a very bitter blow with their diagnosis of an often very serious illness, or the loss of a loved one. Listening to their life stories is fascinating, and working out who is responsible for their loss can involve detailed forensic analysis, and is always really interesting and hugely rewarding. It's a pleasure and a privilege to help each and every one of my clients.

Maggie Powell

Associate

Maggie Powell Associate

Maggie has specialised in personal injury work for over 20 years and has acted for many hundreds of clients and their families who have suffered as the result of an injury that wasn't their fault, either in the workplace or on the roads. Maggie now specialises as a mesothelioma solicitor

My clients are my biggest motivation. My aim is not only to recover the mesothelioma compensation my clients deserve, but also to get them the on-going support and services they need to achieve the best recovery possible. It can make a huge difference to their quality of life in the future. The hardest thing is to help and support clients who have lost a loved one through such a difficult time - probably the most difficult time of their lives.

Rachel James

Associate

Ian Carrier Partner

After qualifying in 2005, Rachel specialised in catastrophic brain injury cases before specialising in asbestos linked diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer and pleural thickening claims in recent years.

Since moving into asbestos claims, I cannot imagine doing anything else. My clients are always lovely people who have been dealt a devastating and often very sudden blow. While no amount of compensation can replace a love one or change a devastating diagnosis, it is hugely rewarding to know that I can assist in providing some level of financial security and peace of mind to victims and families who find themselves in such a dreadful situation.

Jennifer Seavor

Associate

Rebecca Fuller Solicitor

Jennifer qualified in 2008 and has specialised in acting for sufferers of asbestos-related diseases ever since. In the last few years Jennifer has recovered over £3 million in compensation for her clients, and is especially recommended by The Legal 500 UK for “asbestos-related claims”.

Often my clients have lost a loved one due to an asbestos disease and watched them suffer during their illness. Helping my clients to pursue claims and recover compensation can never replace their health or the loved one they have lost. However, I consider it vital that those responsible are brought to justice. I have dedicated my career to this work and my clients are my number one priority. It is a pleasure to use my skills and experience to assist them.

Rachel Jones

Senior Claims Handler

Richard Brooks Partner

Rachel’s more than 10 years experience of handing personal injury claims makes her the ideal first point of contact for new clients. Clients are reassured by her breadth of experience in handling all types of personal injury claims, particularly for those who have suffered road traffic injuries where they weren’t to blame.

People are trying to come to terms with all sorts of traumatic and upsetting issues when they’ve suffered an injury. When they call they want to speak to someone who can sympathise and empathise with what they’re going through. I’m a sympathetic ear and they rely on me to explain the legal process and how we can help with funding a claim. This is the part of my job that gives me the most personal satisfaction.

Ian Carrier

Louise Hart Partner

Ian is a partner who heads up the Oxford Personal Injury team and the firm’s team of spinal injury specialists. His main areas of expertise include catastrophic injury work, especially spinal cord injury claims resulting in paralysis or partial paralysis. He also specializes in fatality claims.

I never cease to be impressed by how positive and spirited my clients are, often in the face of extreme adversity. For me it’s all about securing settlements that enable my clients to achieve maximum independence and quality of life, now and in the future, regardless of the severity of their injury

Louise Hart

Partner

Jill Rainey Solicitor

Louise is a partner in our well-established Personal Injury team and has 20 years’ experience of dealing with all types of personal injury work.

Helping clients with their personal injury claims is all part of the rehabilitation process and helping them get their lives back. I like clients to think of me as their friend as well as their advisor who helps in finding a clear route through their difficulties. As a Mum, I’ve become particularly interested in representing children who have been injured and helping their families cope with the traumas

Richard Brooks

Partner

Rachel Jones Claims Handler

Richard is one of those rare individuals in the law – a litigator with wide ranging legal skills but with a particular passion for horseracing. Not every lawyer who knows about horses makes a good equine lawyer, but Richard, is independently recognised as a ‘leader in the field’ by legal directories Chambers UK and Legal 500.

Everything to do with bloodstock, racing and the business of horses is my thing. It’s a world I feel comfortable in and my clients feel comfortable with me because they know that I get what they do. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Mark Hambleton

Senior Associate

Mark Hambleton Associate

Mark is a member of the firm’s dedicated personal injury team and he handles a wide variety of claims related to all types of injury due to accidents.

No matter what the severity of an injury, it’s bound to be a traumatic time. Family life and careers are often disrupted, so it’s gratifying to help clients succeed in their claims as it’s often the first step in regaining some degree of normality in their lives. I deal with all sorts of personal injuries, but as I’m a keen sportsman I’ve increasingly specialised in sports related injuries. Cycling is a passion for me, so I’ve built up a lot of experience in dealing with cycle and motorcycle injury claims, which few people do.
